Another pilot here who chooses not to drink. It's worth it just for the fun with coworkers who think it is their duty to get me drunk.

Here's my position. No one can really tell me any *good* thing that comes from drinking, but there are a LOT of bad things as a pilot that can happen. I don't really care what I'm missing because I've never tried it. I don't know what I'm missing so I don't know to miss it, make sense? I've had plenty of people argue against that, but no one has felt a need to be so superior that they had the gall to say that I was "hamstrung by dogma" for choosing not to drink it. BTW, I also save a LOT of money by not drinking, something that comes in handy at my pay grade...

By your same logic you could say that about anyone who doesn't smoke who never tried it! What is your problem?

Some of my best times have been with a beer in hand with family / friends. Its a good time and unless someone beats the family dog its all good...Hell, just a few weeks ago Slice came over unannounced to ask about getting his FAA tickets at ATP. Being the nice guy I am I gave him a beer and told him all about the programs ATP offers. Before he left he told me he'd rather be a lucky pilot than a skilled one...It made my day...Thank you Mr. Beer for making it happen...
