I realize this is probably not the correct forum for my question, but this thread is kinda focused on 5900 so was wondering if you guys knew the answers...

First, the way I read it, it states you will need an ATP for hiring into the regionals when the time comes, hence the 1500 hour number being thrown around. Does anyone know if the time reducing requirements still stand, aka flight engineer time counting for 500 of those hours? I'm "planning" on having the 1500 by the time the rule hits, but one never knows. I'm currently sitting at about 600 / 100 ME and was hoping to get the ATP pretty close to 1000 if this exception still applies (have 6000 hours FE time, 2000 of it part 121)

Second; Have I read it correctly that you just need an ATP, or do you need ATP AND 1500 hours. Thanks for the clarifications, just trying to be marketable asap!
