They sure do. Same wing, same motors, same fuel tanks.

I enjoyed having the 27k motors on both the 700 and 800... do a double derated takeoff on the 700 and get almost a 10% increase in N1 when you go to climb power. That was a nice kick in the pants... flying that thing was the most enjoyable part of my 737 time.

The 800s were kind of doggy when heavy- you'd have to start out at FL320 for a long transcon in the summer. Flying it reminded me more of a better responsive MD-88 or a sloppy 757. The landing technique was very similar to the 88 as far as when to pull the power and the look.
