That sucks. I've been able to knock out the CBT's prior to ground school in every training event I've had since 72 FE. Maybe it's an Indoc thing, but I'd have to reiterate the point MXDUDE made that it's definitely worth a try: HUGE advantage not having to deal with CBT's when you can be focusing on the important stuff instead. In any event, they're time-consuming and incredibly tedious but knock 'em out as soon as you can.
You can't do that as a NEW hire under our system. Recurrent, requal or transition training is completely different. When I was hired it was the same thing: systems CBTs were turned on after everyone "passed" the INDOC portion of the initial new hire program.
