a murderer is someone that goes out with the full blown intention of taking a human life. someone who is drunk lacks the better judgement to know what they are getting themselves into.

alcoholism is a disease. so for the guy/gal whose life is controlled by this substance they go about life without much thought as to the negatives that come with their actions. imagine someone just lost their loved one to cancer or something else. in a rut they go to the local tavern to attempt to drink away their sadness, already not a good idea but thats life. they are so consumed with their own self pity they arent thinking about their actions and consequences. they drive home and something happens. that person made a huge mistake they are not a murderer. these people need help not the death sentence.

dont blow all these responses out of context and make it seem like people are here saying drinking and driving is ok, hands down its not you cant argue that. but get off your high horse and understand that people are humans, and whether you are such a great person that you would never make that kind of mistake not everyone is as holy as you are.
