I know my regional routinely flew around with multiple open writeups until the last minute. We weren't even the worst - I flew on Mesa once from ORD to SBN (on a DH) and they couldn't even pressurize the cabin due to the combination of deferrals. Not a big deal, except it was WINTER and we all froze in the back.
