How about this scenario. Management can't get a deal done to maintain the turboprop operation,and decides to shut it down. So management has to declare bankruptcy to get out of leases and mortgages on the airplanes and to get a judge to allow an out of senoirity furlough. Delta then uses that opportunity to cancel the 50 seat flying and give it back to Comair or just get rid of it. So at this point they might as well shut down the 9E CR9 because that doesn't make money either. All that's left now is XJ CR9 flying...
That would leave a cost structure very similar to Comair, most captains and fo's maxed out on the payscale.
