How so? I am on reserve just about every month. I am in an over-staffed category. Hardly anyone on reserve with weekends off was flying more than 4 days.
I'm sure im telling you things you already know but if you have been around as long as you say you have you could hold a line in bases besides NYC...might not be on the 7ER but hey we all have to make choices. I held every holiday off last year. Some on RSV and some with a line and I've only been here since 2010. Of course I'm wasting away in the dreaded 9 but hey quality of life was good so i stayed put.
