Nice, bash the guy for doing the right thing...and taking a stand on a safety issue. Also, what difference does it make that he's not done with IOE? You don't have to have 20 years on the line to know that a 6 day, 24 hour continuous RAP assignment is illegal and unsafe.

Incorrect. Just because a pilot is on probation does NOT mean that the contract doesn't apply to him/her. Furthermore, if there is an issue, the union will work to fix it. Otherwise, the company would walk all over the new hires, because the "union won't represent [them]".

If you're trying to make some thinly veiled comment about how 'useless' the union is, you did a poor job with that argument as well. My reps have always gone above and beyond to help me, especially in safety and contract compliance scenarios even when I was on probation!
