You mention in your petition you don't want to instruct for years at minimum wages--the success of your petition will be the "nail in the coffin" ensuring that the remainder of your professional flying career will be spent fighting to keep what you had yesterday. Lower minimums will guarantee someone will always be willing to accept the job for less than you.
