PS- some might dissagree but I believe for a DAL/AA tie up to happen the company would need the pilots on board. If our pilot group was not on board and explained in a very public way how these mergers lead to overall job losses, etc., based on historical data, the current administration may not go along with it.
I don't know what the MEC opener on scope will be. I know that every rep I have spoken with understands its a top priority and I have not heard a single rep even imply we will give up anything in scope.
I have talked with a couple of people about another merger. It would be smoother for the company to have us working with them on a merger. They don't however require our permission and could easily do a hostile merger so to speak without our cooperation. I will send you a PM on more about one issue.
