It's easy for fellow pilots to say that this 1500 hr rule is good but what if this went into effect when you were a low time pilot? I'm pretty sure some of them got hired around the 250-500 hr mark and they must feel very lucky to have been hired. It is obviously impartial treatment for those who just got into aviation today vs people who got into aviation a few years back when airlines were hiring at the minimums... I wish the FAA had set this minimum before regionals started hiring so everyone got a fair chance. To get 1500 hours now is much harder with flying activity slowing down and not much of a chance to make a living while flying.

But in all honesty, the new ATP law is the way to go to ensure safety for everyone.
