What ^^ said. Flight sims are great for "procedural trainers" for VFR pilots. If someone needs to practice procedures for stalls or slow flight, it's easier to do it on a flight sim instead of chair flying. Flight sims are very good tools for an IFR student, to practice instrument scan, VOR orientation, but anyone using flight sim to "get ahead" on training is not doing themselves a favor and actually "getting behind".
