A past CEO at a in command briefing stated several times he had no problem paying a 777 CA 500 dollars an hour. He said the revenue generation of the airframe could support it. He then however went on to state that if he paid that we would demand 400 an hour on a 737 which could not support it. I don't remember the exact numbers but a 777 CA generated about 3 and a half times the total revenue of a 737 CA when you factored in the airfares and cargo. They had all the numbers available for each aircraft and they were eye watering on the difference in revenue generation between airframes.
Did he calculate the goodwill that an ATL based MD-88 pilot produces by being a debonair handsome pilot from T-Tail land?
On that note, since an AE is out, ATL MD-88 sucks.
