It could be done easily in a differences course if there was a FAA approved one. Ditto DC9 to MD-88. Unfortunately there is none. Prior experience with hammer and chisel do help those new to the DC9, as does one of those math for pilot refreshers.

Going from the nine to the 88....the only thing that is the same is how to turn on ground power. Otherwise everything is different. All navigation, all com panels, all engine parameters and gauges.....different.
