They have only gone through 700 + of the 1437 furloughed pilots at united to be offered the positions. They have not even sent out letters for the 247 vacancy bid. Once L-Cal finishes the bid they will need to send out letters to the L-UAL side to fill the positions. If it becomes a true 247 vacancy and they are unable to fill with L=UAL pilots then and only then can they start to hire off the street and that would probably be around November. That can all change if they come up with a TA and it is approve.
On the UAL forum there is a post referencing Furlough update #17 where it states that 1068 job offers have been made so far....I have not read the update.
Also another thread on this forum talks about rumors of an additional 90 letter going out with the 8 ball having a Feb 4th 2001 hire date.
