It only takes about 2 minutes to check in on the Kiosk for those that know what they are doing and those that don't should plan on arriving with ample time anyway.
These little quirks bug me as much as you FTB.
Something else that needs to be changed IMO is the boarding of Non Revs.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe non revs are given "Zone 4" boarding. With everyone bringing so many carry ons and the overheads filling up so quickly (Paying passengers ABSOLUTELY should have first dibs on overhead space), It bugs me when 'offline' non revs board ahead of me because they rushed to cut in front of people, and get their bags on, and then I, while traveling on my own airline, have to gate check my overnight bag, and wait for it at baggage claim for 45 minutes.
This happened to me twice in the last two weeks commuting to work. I was not in uniform so I could not just put a deadhead crew tag on and take it downstairs. One day, a Compass FA with three big bags, and a Skywest pilot, with two big bags, boarded ahead of me, got their stuff in the overheads, and then me and about 4 PAYING passengers had to gate check our bags. The week prior, same thing happened but it was a Pinnacle FO, and two FA's from ASA and Comair I think.
Dont really know how to fix this but maybe give Delta non revs zone 4, and then offline non revs zone 6 or something.
I realize in the grand scheme of things this isnt a terrible issue, but when you are commuting to work, or commuting home, sucks to have to check your bags and wait at baggage claim for awhile, while non revs from other airlines get their bags on no problem, because they were willing to run to the front of the line and cut off paying passengers.
