The company can get rid of long call anytime they want to by using pilots for the max short calls and giving them trips all the time when staffing is lean. And they can do it in such a way that results in 18 non commutable (and non boatable at home) days of hard labor. You could, however, do a lot of boating on those extra, guaranteed, always going to get them 100% of the time, 36-42 days a year off.
