Let me ask you this. How can Delta management NOT compensate us for being the world's largest carrier, in sheer volume, at least at levels commensurate with the LCC that now operates in our HQ hub? How about them apples Shiz?
We are Delta and they are us. We have taken on enormous sacrifices to save our company and thrive in the environment of consolidation and growth. And we've done it in remarkable fashion. Take a look at US Air, United. American and SWA. We're not them, we are Delta. That's how.
I agree with your sentiment. I want all those things. I want and hope our management is somehow different......but I doubt it. I think that management will cease to be "constructive" when we want the 9 zeros worth of "engagement".
I don't think it will matter. Management has almost zero incentive to increase their pilot costs by over a BILLION dollars a year "just because"..
We ARE the grease that makes the airline work, but until we can legally threaten to "withhold that grease", it will take a need on the company's part for them to "buy" our help. (Maybe the company has a need/want that will require our help.....maybe not)
But it will likely take a 3-5 year battle to get to that point so you can start saving now and complying with the NMB/RLA status quo in the interim.
I would really like to be demonstrably proven wrong; with a TA that is on time and meets the desires of the pilot group.
Want to place a charity wager on it happening?
