How long would I be on reserve? And do you see some flying time while on reserve usually? It is hard to say how long you would be on reserve. Depending on when your hired you may have guys in class right behind you, or you may not for a few months. So depending on that it could be a month or it could be a lot longer.
What would a first year guy expect to really make to include per diem and everything. (I know you don't have exact, but maybe an average?)
I would say around 23,000 first year not including per diem. It is really hard to say how much you will make in per diem. Factors like how long you are on reserve, how much you fly on reserve will all play into this.
How long is training when I come back? Especially with sim? What is the average cost of housing out there around the training facilities?
When you get back it is about 2 months until you finish your PIC checkride. I found a place to stay for $190 a month while I was in training.
When you go out there for the two day class and then go home for 3 weeks, is that paid time? Is it also paid time while we are in training and sim?
The home study is paid, but it is only 15 hours. The contract says they must pay have of what the course is worth, and the FAA says the home study is worth 30 hours.
Once you come back from the home study you will start to get guarantee, which is 75 hours.
