In case not, he basically said that the Government of Japan is going to allow JAL more flights in/out of HND...and since we don't have a code share partner over there, like AA and UAL, with JAL and ANA, we will be left out in the cold.
Sounded a lot like he wants some HND slots big time...so why do we need NRT if we get them? He could overfly Japan for some of the 'interport' destinations, and just serve HND from LAX and NYC and ATL.
I heard something about that.. but not the actual quote. (It does raise an interesting scenario regarding the acquisition of Hawaiian though) It still seems like there will be a need for a hub there to spoke out of, because I doubt if Saipan could support a 777.
The big group hug Line Check meeting is in April.. I can hardly wait for that. should be verrrrry interesting.
