You'd walk into the lotto office looking for the $5M you didn't have last week and people would actually feel bad for you considering someone walked in and got $242M in cash, even after taxes, the week prior.
What would also be bad is splitting it. What if you had the winning ticket and found out the next day that some plumber in New Jersey also had the numbers.
