My guess, Delta is sorting out a way to not have the 9E 900s go to the desert (or wherever) If that means buying them off of 9E and then leasing/selling them to Skywest (OO?) then that's what they will help do. Delta doesn't want any of the 76 seaters parked for any amount of time. They couldn't care less if 9e shuts down and parks the 50's they can cover for that easily. Delta has already started shifting DC9-50's to ATL to cover the loss of the 900's. (yes the ones that were supposed to be parked but now won't to cover the lost 900's) Delta pilots have already had a memo on this part of the mess.
