Columbia, big pic bud.
With Viking resurrecting the Twin Otter of B-U-double-Z fame, I wonder why not slap two engines on the 208B?
When I visited the ICT plant for the 208, which if memory serves ain't much bigger than a basketball court at the gym, they said the (underpowered) PT6 they had installed was the biggest they felt comfortable putting in a single engine airplane. But the good thing it never fails.
Never fails? The only way an engine never fails if it's never started. They fail, especially pumps, governors and props. If you don't have an engine running, even if it wasn't due to the hot section, then it failed. Give me two!
I like single engine airplanes but I don't like ones that are stressed to their limits. I don't think the Mooneys and A36s and like are, but I think 350hp are. And when they go not only do you end up with a glider, but a blind glider:
Wait patiently for a former insurance guy to explain and correct the factual mess I just made here.
