That's pretty simple, by CS regulation, your first eight hours of scheduled work based on the report time are your civil service day. 1400 brief, the next eight hours are civil service work. In my 18 years of doing ART, the civil service rules are the hardest part of bending them into a flight work environment.

Now you could have a scheduled day beginning at 0800, do 8 hours and triple-turn on an AFTP, I suppose. You'd have to play it right or use some leave, depending.
