I love it... someone asks about the union actually doing real analysis on the cost benfits of insourcing, then a union guy comes on and says "we're doing it." When taken a bit deeper, that seems to not be the case. The other unionoid comes on and throws some numbers out there which were quickly taken to task. Why do our union guys try to justify the outsourcing?? This is ridiculous. Then they wonder why there is a push to get rid of this ALPA?
Best part...those guys are unelected and not responsible to the membership. Not even to the LEC reps. They only answer to the MEC Chairman.
There was a resolution a few cycles ago that would have had the committee chairmen stand for election by the reps, but the old guard had their votes lined up, and the votes in play didn't want to rock the boat.
Funny how the unioniods only creep out when there is a serious question of the direction and facts. Gotta control that message.
