The Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 (PUBLIC LAW 111-216--AUG. 1, 2010) states that each flight crewmember for a part 121 air carrier must hold an airline transport pilot certificate under part 61 of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations.
Since this requirement must be met by August 1st, 2013, the airlines require you to answer the following question:


Were you born before August 2nd, 1990?

Yes - I was born BEFORE August 2nd, 1990 No - I was born AFTER August 1st, 1990
It is odd that you first ran into that now. It appeared on mine several weeks ago.
