I nominate those skippers and or F/Os who make PAs from the main entry way and think its good customer service.
It's just naive...it's great customer service to the one or two who really appreciate it. The other 94% of the target audience is now wondering whether personality equates to flying skills...or if you're really gonna have to use the earphones on this flight. Besides...if you're out there they can see all the coffee stains and seat belt grease.
