But this isn't about me. I was fortunate, I only applied to one airline (AA) and was blessed to be hired by the same. My goal is be part of a renewed and stronger American Airlines! Maybe that beyond my control, but I'd like to think otherwise.

If this is true, then congratulations. Unfortunately, the bottom half of the seniority list isn't so lucky. Horton's plan pretty much will finish us off and we won't have your dry lifeboat.
If we all end up in the icy waters of Lake Horton (1113), perhaps as you sail on by in that dry lifeboat, you'll toss us a cushion or two as we flounder around.
Clearly, you're in a far different place then many of the pilots of AA.
