I guess I'll jump in the fray... I've been ATL based all but 2 months at Delta. The 737 fleet seemed to have the highest number of CAs that did walkarounds, but there were many on the 767 fleet that did as well. I'm flying with more fNW guys now, and they seem less apt to do them. No biggie... I walk on board expecting to do one and it's a nice break if I get to not go outside every once in a while.

90+% of the guys buy at least the first round of the beer, and sometimes more. Again, I always expect to end up paying and it's a great treat when I get by with a bit less than my fair share of the tab.

As far as the super duper short call, I've had times where I'm the one waiting for the other guy to show up, and I've definitely been the last guy down the jetbridge a number of times. Every time that I've been the one waiting for the CA, I've gotten everything done. Every time I've been the one showing up late, I've walked on to a plane with everything done... except once. That happened to be the same guy that said the snow would just blow off the wings. I guess I need to nominate him on the toolbag thread.

Anyhoo. We've overall got a very classy group, and it's sure nice not being at the regionals where you were pleasantly surprised that you didn't end up flying with someone who just didn't give a crap, was too dumb to know what giving a crap was, or was smart but lacking in common sense on what to get wrapped around the axle about.
