So be it!
Your's also seem to be a devide and devide strategy. I'll make no apologies for my level of seniority, although, it isn't that senior. Additionally, the point at which I retire is clearly a personal one! I have thoroughly enjoyed every part of my career up to now and will continue to do so for possibly the next 10 years.
If it turns out the we enter into a merger, I'll continue to give my all no matter whoever is at the helm.
Joy, peace and contentment are internal constructs!
Well, I think it's safe to say we disagree. Not sure what a "devide and devide" strategy is, but I think there's less and less division among the pilots every day. The overwhlming majority are now seeing themselves as independent contractors looking for the best deal (just like Horton did when he left AMR for AT&T and returned - it's just "business and bucks").
Who cares what the paint says ?
Many are already resigned to the fact that the once great name of "American Airlines" has been destoyed anyway. In fact, even if AMR retains control and/or the American Airlines name survives, in Horton's plan it's likely to be small letters by the front of the lower fuselage preceded by "operated by". "One World" would be the brand name with a stable of carriers, both domestically and internationally.
Joy, peace and contentment are also states of existance that sometimes have to defended. I think that's what's happening now. It's clear to me anyway, that as it stands there has been very little of those ideals anywhere around here for at least the last decade, with the exception of certain executives with ca$h-stuffed pockets. Certainly not among the employees or shareholders.
