You don't have to do walkarounds on the Airbus anyway, do you? Doesn't that thing have exterior video monitors that you can punch up on one of those tv screens, or something?

It was definitely more of an annoyance when the CA didn't do the walkaround on the 757 or non-ER 767s... loading all those winds on a transcon takes a while. It saves a lot of time on the uplink equipped planes like the ETOPS 75/76's, certain 737s and all the 319/320s!
As far as that DC-9, apparently one had an engine deposit its innards all over one of the inboard runways at ATL yesterday. Yowza.
