It is hard to compare... I've done it, but the trouble is in the scheduling section. Read the CAL section and it says "to be inserted at a later date." They got theirs about 3 months after they voted on their TA. They got handed some bullet points, and the bullet points all turned out to be lies. Then, their union negotiators jumped ship to management and took their notes with them. Then the CAL pilots got a "sweeeet" scheduling section that gutted their work rules and gave them PBS.

After getting PBS (which is an absence mangement system) they find out it is not built to honor seniority. They beta tested it with mock bids for 3 months and not a single absence was loaded into the system. No vacation, no training, no sick leave, no military leave.

It was the ultimate bait and switch with the NC leaving the team and then going to play for the other side.

But....I digress..........so sorry.

Anyway... UAL work rules exist to trigger protections due to management stupidty in unproductive flying. CAL work rules exist to squeeze every single drop of blood out of the pilot and his family and so that when he is dead there will be no public viewing, just a creamation because none of us new hire buddies will recognize him after cramming 50 years of flying into a 30 year career.

CAL should be called "slave ship airlines."
