If you're just following the bars, you're doing it wrong.
They are suggestions, not directions!
That was actually the one major bone I had to pick with the most recent training program I went through.
They said if the FD is on, you strictly follow it. Not good.. not good at all. Scan first, then look at the bars, they should verify what you want to do.
I really hope that's not what they told you in fifi training. There are several reasons things could go wrong following that mentality.
