Wonder what the real story was. What were they really after??

I went in there once, landed on runway 5. The police met our aircraft and tried to tell us we taxied over a taxi light and broke it and had to pay for it. The light wasn't anywhere near where we landed or taxied. Took about 20 minutes with the station manager and the mechanic to prove we did not taxi over the broken light. About 30 minutes later, the second Fedex flight came in. The police met them, and tried to tell THEM they broke the taxi light. I wonder how many planes landed before someone was scared into paying for it.

And I DO NOT carry my passport on my in Almaty, per the station manager. His info is on the dispo, he says if you have a problem to call his cell, and do not carry your passport.
