SWA has one of the better balance sheets and is expanding the network, I'm wondering if labor is wanting higher hourly rates, or more variable income?

I honestly don't know how our union will approach the upcoming talks. The company and SWAPA have agreed to delay the section 6 opener until September of 2006. Without getting into the politics, I believe the mood is such that our pilot group would give up pay today if asked by the company. That seems to be the predominant sentiment.

I don't believe our pilots would demand or expect a big pay raise in the current industry environment. It seems to me most of our pilots would be very happy if we could keep our current pay rates and not take pay cuts.
