Well, if it would have reduced costs, wouldn't AMR have proposed this by now ?

I mean, being savvy businessmen with huge amounts of money going to multiple "advisors" scouring every orifice for savings for the last 4.5 months, you'd think they'd have identified this necessary requirement by now. For them to do that now would be an indication it isn't a money saving action at all, but instead a self-serving counter move to another's advances. I'm sure highlighting that action as a facade would be the re-counter by Parker and the AA unions.

Of course if that was done and it did succeed, once the threat is over (chapter 11 exit), I'm sure it would be suddenly determined to ............well, not "work" anymore and then promptly be undone.
