Only time I'll let someone know that their on guard is when they call ops or ramps and someone else answers them. Don't really see the need to screw with a fellow pilot like that.
As long as you don't use the tone of voice you would use if your puppy just ate your wife's favorite pair of shoes, you're not a tool. Tool voice + Guard Policing = full fledged tool.
A friendly heads-up is no problem.
