I understand where you are coming from. I am pretty sure most companies wouldn`t just put you in the sim and say "go." They will usually give you some time to adjust to the sim prior to beginning the checkride. If they don`t give the applicant time to adjust to the sim then they would be throwing them under the bus, and in my opinion setting them up for failure. I just don`t think there is a need for a full blown groundschool and a bunch of sim sessions to prepare someone for a checkride in the airplane they are currently qualified in.
