As a CFI you are able to teach commercial students. (edited I had hr req for teaching a comm. student but it's for a CFI.). Because of that you need to be able to do the commercial maneuvers and have knowledge over the commercial subjects. For your CFI checkride you do it to commercial standards. Those are the highest standards you can teach to.
