I always thought it was random until I flew the 757/767 with auto throttles. Then it all made sense. I guess I am a tool for getting the whole "wind check" thing.
It's funny how wound around the axle some pilots get over the wind check thing. I always figured that raised their tool flag pretty high if something that simple makes them upset.
