Hey, I have an idea. We already know that furlough protection is not worth the paper on which it's printed. Real furlough protection is pilots underneath us on the list, which likely would not happen with these work rule changes. And as someone stated above, furlough in the next few years will hopefully not be a big concern. Sooo....

How about we negotiate some stagnation protection? For every year a pilot fails to move x% up the list, he moves up one pay category. Or one year of longevity. More outsourcing: hurts the company. Shrinking due to work rule hits: hurts the company. I'd take that clause over furlough protection any day. Did anyone put furlough protection high on their contract survey? Or where is ALPA seeing that we should waste any negotiating capital on it?
