Some receive a preference due to their race. Others because their daddy is a check airman for the company. The main difference is that we call one "ethnic diversity" and is easy to recognise. The other is harder to pick out and is much more prevalent. To the average guy on the street both are hugely unfair and unfortunately how most are hired at the majors.

The hard truth is that if you don't have nepotism, race or a military network on your side then you don't have much of a chance at all.
