It changes your perspective when you realize that your entire financial life hangs on the balance of the ebb and flow of the aviation industry. Not a happy or secure feeling. Try to imagine what it would be like to have to live elusively on what a regional first officer earns. Sponsored pilots are tourists really and do not share the same experience or perspective.

Not your fault. Try to empathize with the rest of us.

Boy Sky, you act like I have no idea what you are talking about. I empathize with ALL under-paid over worked Pilots. I was there myself in the early 90s making ten bucks an hour flying a Jetstream 3100 with a 70 hour monthly promise. I have heard and seen great careers in this industry and I have also witnessed the other side of he coin. My point is, anyone who wants to give this industry a go, should get ALL the advice possible. That includes you and it includes me. Hopefully, one of these days, this career will once again be desirable.
