This is what it happening at the MEC meeting.

The two guys seated at the table facing you are the DALPA MEC. They don't have a vote, but they have great influence.

The man with his back to you is your LEC representative. He has a vote. He works hard for his money.

The two men in the foreground with their backs to you are from ALPA national. They don't have a vote, either. But, they have the goodies.

Right now they are playing nice. We are all on the same team. We are your friend. You don't need to know the details. Trust us. We have your best interests at heart. We want a unanimous vote. If you vote with us, we will see to it that you are taken care of for life with a cushy job in DC.

If you resist, resistance is futile, or ask for a lawyer, we will see to it that your life as you know it is over. You will be shunned. No hope of 87 hours plus 5 of flight pay loss for you, ever. You will be sent back to the line to toil with the swine.

I don't know if the TA is good or bad. But, this is what is happening right now. That's how the game is played. The pressure on your LEC guy is enormous. Especially if he is thinking about voting no. The men in the suits want unanimity.
