Keep in mind that the tower controller realized at the last minute that they were lined up on the taxiway, but elected to NOT cancel their landing clearance because there were no other aircraft moving on that side of the airport.
Good to know; that little tidbit never made it down to my level. I'm glad there was another link to trap that error (or at least the consequences of the error).
