Here I think your showing your age and, frankly, a lack of
positional awareness regarding the reality of braking into aviation in the 21st century. I wish, as I sure every aspiring pilot also wished, that no one could buy there way into this career.
You as a navy guy had your training bought for you (and before you tear off on a rant about serving your country and landing on pitching decks..... we all
respect your sacrifice in serving your country so save that one for some
other disrespecting, un American, non Republican. Others paid to fly, some more than others, and yes, the lower end of the airline industry has found that some pilots will pay to get a crappy job, getting payed peanuts, in the hope, that they can, some day own a......

The fault lies not with younger pilots grubbling and lowering the bar as much as, employed pilots not demanding (thought a collective resolve) to set pay and QOL standards for
all pilots, new hire as well as senior. If more pilots groups would have the same ca-hones as the ComAir bunch, than starting FO pay wouldn't be $19 an hour and topping out at less than $50, as it does with some regionals. This is the problem, not the people looking skyward. Put the blame where it lies, not on its victims.
