The fact is that for money, pilots have outsourced their own job, therefore allowing the DCI to exist. For a little more money why not allow a few more planes. The regionals operate the E175/CRJ900 which have wages negotiated by dalpa.
The pilots claim that they are united as an industry and a union but they have allowed the industry to except starting pay below poverty levels. The common answer I hear to that is we all had to pay our dues. That is insulting. They paid their dues by being on reserve for 1-2 years at the most. Not 5-15 years. The only ones that want to join this industry are those who love flying. I have been at my company for 5 years and still live paycheck to paycheck, and not because I am trying to live outside of my means. We are one of the few unions in the country that doesn't have a standard pay nationwide for years of service, or by equipment operated.
