Side track...I'm an eagle guy so am not really up in other companies business...but can someone give me a quick rundown of why ASA/Skywest/XJet are not considered one entire entity? I thought you were all owned by Skywest, no?
Because SkyWest management wants to keep one side (SkyWest) non union so that the ever present fear of whipsaw is always there.
I hope that the SkyWest side will unionize one day and join their coworkers at ASA/XJT to speak in one unified voice to management. Until then, management will continue to give the SkyWest side just enough to keep them from voting in a union.
I won't even go into the fact that many of the "gains" that management has given SkyWest pilots is based on gains achieved by unionized labor groups.
Management just doesn't give a raise because they like their pilots. They do because a unionized carrier just achieved gains in their CBA and now management must give a bump to keep the masses at rest. I guess I did go into it after all
