Amf
When you intro. yourself to the Ameriflight process, tell them your KingAir time should put you into the B1900 or Metro. They may say the Chieftain is where you will start...blah blah blah. Then counter that you want the stability to stay in BFI. Emphasize you can handle either the Metro or B1900 single-pilot based on your experience. They have a lot of training failures, particularly in the Metro. Those are two critical real selling points to a company with a lot of turn over and turbine upgrade SNAFUs. Keep reiterating that point with them and they will begin to understand why you make sense for them in a turboprop. They always run short of Metro qualified pilots in PDX so you can look at Temporary Duty there as well. There is a new Metro run starting that flies PDX to Richland (tri-cities) so there is some growth in your area too. Don't ask me why UPS wants Richland instead of the much safer Pasco airport, drivers time & convenience. I was at AMF for 5+ years so believe me that you must promote your needs to obtain timely upgrades and the equipment when initially hired. The process is all about what works for the company. Seniority is a distant second. Your desire to stay in BFI and experience can go along way. Save yourself a lot of time and earn more money by asserting you are good for their interests too. Good Luck.
